6 People There's a Special Place in Hell For

people who pull out in front of you and then drive well under the speed limit.  this applies to walking in front of you too, when they've seen you're moving much faster than them.

anyone who rides their bike during rush hour traffic in downtown chicago.  likewise anyone who participates in critical mass each month.  (if you don't know what this is and you hate bikers, please do yourself a favor and don't google it, it'll make you want to kill yourself.)

parents who expect other people to parent their children.  you had it, raise it (or let someone else adopt them).  it's not a puppy you got for christmas that you can't handle, you don't drop it off at a shelter (special circle in hell for people who do that too, by the way).  or your mother's house.

people who phrase something in a way that clearly suggests they want attention, and then get huffy when i don't give it to them.  "oh yeah, last week was awful...." "my boyfriend can be such a jerk..."  i will simply say ok.  i will not ever ask why.  dude, if you want to talk about something, spit it out.  i'm not going to pull it out of you, you're not 12.  grow up.

i'm not in school any more but it still applies - students who ask questions with less than 5 minutes left in class.  everyone. hates. you.  ask after class, e-mail, go to office hours.  do not keep everyone later because of your question.  most times it's stupid because yes there is such a thing as a stupid question.  i heard about 3,754 in my 3 years of law school.  and even if it is a good one, no one else is listening to the answer because they're all concentrated on the clock.

anyone who doesn't tip.  waiters, bartenders, whatever, if someone served you, you tip them.  they generally make less than minimum wage, in the anticipation that it'll be made up for in tips.

  1. Umm yeah! Fuck people that don't tip. They have a special job in hell waiting for them.

I can not stand people who go slow. Whether they pull out in front of me or I just drive up to them. Get the fuck over!!!!

  2. being a nanny, i hate #3 because i deal with it ALL THE TIME.

also, i don't mind people asking questions at the end of class/meetings/whatever, but what i hate is when they ask a personal/specific only to them question. if it's something everyone can benefit from, great. if not, hush up and wait till later. end of story.

  4. I am a teacher and I have 3 kids of my own...YES YES YES to #3! Please do not send your children to school for me to raise. I am their TEACHER, not their MOTHER! you have to potty train them, teach them manner, and in general how to act like a human, not ME!

I have 3 of my own I have to teach these things to!

  6. There is so much I have to say about this because I agree with each and everyone... Even Mass Cycling and we don't have many bikers. I think some people's license should be revoked for doing dumb shit plain and simple! I hate attention seekers, it irks me to another level. Matter fact, I'll write a post as well!! lol

  8. Yes. All of this. Every last one of them. Especially the kid thing. Not cool at all.

  9. Bikers drive me nuts too! I can't imagine living in a big city where they are everywhere!! My blood pressure is going up just thinking about it!

  10. All of those, specifically passive aggressive vague fishing for attention whores (I won't ever ask either, you'll have to say it like a big girl if you want to talk about it) and non-tippers.

  11. we have monthly lectures at the museum i work at. I always have to go and it is always on some fucking boring topic. they run until about 9 and inevitably there are like 5 nerds in the audience that ask question after question at the end. I am strangling them in my mind because at this point i always just want to go home and eat dinner.

  12. I LOVE this post - co sign on everything! I just moved to Stockholm, and one of the weirdest things I'm finding about Swedes is their total lack of spacial awareness - I swear they all just wander about the city getting in each other's (and specifically, MY) way. I feel like as a guest in their city I can't punch them in the back of the head... yet. ;-)

  16. I'm getting so stressed out just reading this! The people who obviously want attention are the WORST! I used to have a friend like that, I couldn't take it anymore! And whyyyy do people ask questions when class (or a meeting - I had a coworker who would constantly do this) is wrapping up?! Everyone wants to leave! And people that don't tip or tip stingily (yeah that's so not a word is it) are so going to hell.

    1. Thank goodness we don't do meetings at my office or I know one co-worker who would for sure do that! I'd probably flip. I currently have one of those attention seeking friends and I'm slowly removing her from my life because it's just too stressful to deal with her any more. It's not worth my sanity!

  17. Along with #4, I also can't stand people who loudly sigh or laugh to themselves then wait for you to ask "what's wrong" or "what's so funny"

  18. When I saw this post in my feed I saw the pic of RDJ and was like, uh-oh, if Steph thinks Iron Man belongs in hell, I don't know about this...and then it was just a gif that was so perfect I can't believe I even had doubts.

Regarding #1: AMEN. Those people are the freaking worst. Right up there w/ the bastards who don't wait in line for an exit and then cut everyone else off. I want them all to die immediately.

  19. YES to huffy people and people who don't tip! Learn how to talk to people! We want company, not someone who wants us to act super interested about their life.

And people who don't tip... I work as a server and this drives me CRAZY. Depending on your state, servers can make like $2/hour. Tip! And be nice. We're handling you're food.

    1. Exactly, no one is going to keep being interested in your life if that's how you talk to them! It gets old so fast.
Haha so true about the food. Why mess with someone who is bringing out what you're about to put in your mouth? Seems idiotic. Non-tippers are the worst, it's common knowledge they aren't making even minimum wage! And sharing with bus boys and hostesses. Come on!

  20. Yes. All of this. Especially people who pull directly in front of you then drive like shit. Seriously not cool.

  21. I smiled when I saw your post title. I was excited to read the list, and agree to all of them. when people say something just for attention I usually reply "oh yea?" and then either they stop being annoying or decide to elaborate.. but either way it shows I don't really care.

I would also add (which kinda fits into the stupid question category) when someone asks me something that either a) I clearly could not possibly know the answer to and//or b) something they could easily Google themselves.

  22. YES - people who don't tip should get dick punched.
there is nothing fun about running your ass off to get people shit and then have them tip you like shit.

  23. BIKERS. Bicycle-ers. So not a fan. Why are they so entitled? I CAN NOT.

Also, fishers. Fishing for conversation. NO.

  24. Yes!! Love it. I really hate when people ditch their pets. I have a "friend" who has done this multiple times. And now she has another puppy. Ugh!!!
