Things I Can Admit to Liking

8.07.2013
brussels sprouts.  i'm not a fan of the way it's spelled, but i am a fan of eating them.  they are delicious, any time they are on a menu, i order them.

dance moms, honey boo boo, various other 'trash' television.  now i'm not claiming that it's not terrible television.  what i am claiming is that i like to watch it.  i don't just watch it because it's so horrible i can't look away or that i must see what nasty concoction mama june makes next.  i get excited when a new season of dance moms is starting.  i enjoy seeing the teen moms being ridiculous.  it's fun.

gomi forums.  everyone seems to hate on the site but i can admit, most of the time, the posters aren't wrong, and i like reading it.  granted, i only read the forums for blogs i hated before visiting the site.  because some bloggers, like some people i know in real life, post things i find utterly ridiculous and i like to read that someone out there agrees with me.

infomercials.  i have so many as seen on tv products, and i like all of them.  pajama jeans, the perfect brownie pan, the magic bullet, pillow pets, snuggies, sham wow, those infomercials just suck me in.  i can't help it, i love them.  pajama jeans are probably the single greatest purchase i've ever made.

keanu reeves movies.  the replacements, hard ball, constantine, the devil's advocate, speed, bill and ted.  i don't know why people don't like him, i love all those movies.

miley cyrus.  everyone is so mean to poor miley.  i like her.  i liked hannah montana, i even dragged my friend to see the movie in theaters.  i like her music, i like her movies (ok, not whatever nicholas sparks one she was in but lol was decent, and bolt.)  yes, i have an extreme dislike over her haircut, but other than that, i'm a miley fan.

winter.  snow makes me happy.  humidity does not.  give me winter and cold and tons of snow any day.

spin-offs.  i guess people tend to hate spin-offs of their favorite shows, but i like them.  angel from buffy.  melrose place from 90210 (and models inc from melrose place).  young americans from dawson's creek and the fact that it was only one season was a travesty.  the hills from laguna beach.  everything degrassi.  and one of my personal favorites - tailspin, from the jungle book.  anything that allows me to watch more of my favorite characters, i'm happy.

what are some things you like that everyone else hates?

  4. GOMI is rarely out of line.

I adore brussels sprouts, I make them all the time.

Humidity is like hell coming up to say hello.

My BFF and her fiance own pajama jeans and cannot ever stop talking about them. hahahaha

  5. Um, yes to JUST about all of this. This is why we're twins. Although, you're the more "girly" one and I'm the "tomboy"... and I'm OK with that.

  6. I LOVE brussels sprouts and I love that you love as seen on TV stuff! My mom has like 17 as seen on TV things in her house haha! Mine I think would be the MTA (people hate on it all the time about how trains are always breaking down and it's expensive but I'm honestly so grateful it exists) and kale. Kale is apparently really fun to hate, but I think it's really good if you can manage to soften it up enough!

  7. I love my trashy TV (Teen Mom, Bachelor/Bachelorette, etc.) too.

Other things I love that other people hate: Rascal Flatts, the Biebs (when he's not acting crazy), black olives, and "Glee."

  8. i love the band train...and it is hard for me to admit that. I also watch Melissa and Joey on the disney channel.

  9. Hahaha, I love that you own pajama jeans. One of my students last year kept talking about how she wanted them - I'll have to tell her you said they're comfortable! :)

  10. I love that you aren't afraid to put all this out there! Pajama jeans I could get on board with!

  11. I am highly disappointed in my scorpio sister. Miley Cyrus is the devil and the world will end if they play her music. Although, her song We Can't Stop is starting to grow on me. I just want her tongue to stay in her mouth, stop wearing spanx and bras out in public.. and grow her hair out at a decent length. Did I miss anything else?

    Oh. STOP WEARING GOLD TEETH!!!

GOMI is my guilty pleasure. Fa sho. I learned a lot from that forum. I learned what NOT to do and what is likeable! winning!

and come to Florida during winter. You will love it then!!!!

  16. I love infomericals, I will literally just watch them for hours without realizing it. Thankfully I have not bought them. I'm on my way to check out GOMI because somehow I have never heard of this before!

  18. I totally love Miley. I took the girls to see her in concert (at Rupp) and had as much fun as they did. Trash tv is about all I watch. I love Honey Boo Boo. Kinda iffy on the whole Pajama jean thing. I am wanting to lean toward just saying no to them. I am feel totally out of the loop. What is Gomi Forums?

  19. Brussels sprouts and GOMI. Both so much more awesome than they get credit for.

  20. I am totally with you on brussels sprouts (which I can never remember how to spell) and GOMI. GOMI is totally necessary in blog world, because unless you haev a true blog BFF that you trust implicitly, you need to have somewhere to go to read about the ridiculous shit people post and do.

I love "as seen on TV" products. The other day I heard a genius idea for a Christmas white elephant gift exchange: the item must be something from an infomercial or an "as seen on TV" item.

  21. Oh Miley! I love her I even saw her in concert. Pre cray Miley post Hannah Montana. Think 'Party in The USA' Miley.

  22. I kind of love Miley Cyrus. :) And I've never tried pajama jeans, haha, but they do sound comfy! My mom is an infomercial maniac!

  26. i love infomercials but i was sooo skeptical of the pajama jeans. you got them?! i need details!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Umm so on board with the Miley love. "Party in the USA" was my 24th bday anthem. And maibs "we can't stop" will be my 27th anthem! She's just being Miley, leave her alone everyone else!

  28. I keep meaning to try brussell sprouts. I'm told that roasted with EVOO, garlic and some sea salt they're amazing.

  29. The pajama jeans are hilarious but they do look comfy! I like black jeans beans the best. Everyone usually hates those ones so I get them all ;-) I also like watching Honey Boo Boo although I can't understand a thing they say!

  30. I'm a fan of brussels sprouts and infomercials. but not a huge Miley fan, her music is alright.. but seriously hate her haircut.

  31. I love all of these things. I also like the new 90210- so a remake already :)

  32. I do not like brussels sprouts..it has a weird taste...i heart you for the pajama jeans and goji admissions!! and yes to "trash tv" and spin offs!! i spent these past few weeks trying to wake up early so i can watch The Hills on "retro" MTV...how is it "retro" it was like 5 years ago and all the fashion is still pretty relevant!!!

  33. SNOW MAKES ME HAPPY TOO!!! People think I'm crazy when I say that, but waking up in the morning to a fresh layer of clean, white snow is an awesome feeling. Puts a smile on my face :-)

  37. I am convinced that if it is labeled "as sold on tv" that means I must buy it because CLEARLY it is incredible. You literally have to drag me away from that section in walmart!
