Damn The Man, Save The Empire

in case you weren't already aware, my blog's name comes from my very favorite movie, of all time, empire records.  nothing can top this classic from 1995, in my opinion.  if you haven't seen it (a) i'm ashamed of you and (b) fix that, stat.  i use a lot of empire records quotes as titles for my posts (tomorrow will be one, for instance), so it would really help if you knew what i was talking about.

gina: now debra, don't be bitter.  surely with your ever growing collection of flesh mutilating silver appendages and your brand new neo-nazi boot camp makeover, the boys will come a-runnin'.

warren: who glued these quarters down?
a.j.: i did.
warren: what the hell for, man?!
a.j.: i don't feel that i need to explain my art to you, warren.

debra: hey lucas, is it true you committed the perfect crime?
lucas:  not entirely perfect.

lucas: joe, the money is gone.
joe: yeah, i know it's gone.  where's it gone to?
lucas: atlantic city.
joe: is it coming back from atlantic city?
lucas: oh, i don't think so, joe.
joe: what's it doing in atlantic city?
lucas: ...recirculating?

lucas: joe, i think it's going to be ok.
joe: what makes you think that?
lucas: who knows where thoughts come from?  they just appear.

gina: well sinead o'rebellion.  shock me shock me shock me with that deviant behavior.
debra: god that is so clever.  i swear you get smarter the shorter your skirt gets.
gina: and you get smarter the shorter your hair gets, so it's probably a good thing you went with that.

a.j.: what's with you?  yesterday you were normal and today you're like the chinese guy from the karate kid.  what's with you today?
lucas: what's with today today?

jane: actually, his new album tested well among teenage males.
lucas: jane, did you compare the percentage of teenage male rex manning fans to the incidence of homosexuality amongst teenage males?

lucas: warren, look what you took.  rap... metal... rap... metal... whitney houston.
warren: it's for my girlfriend.
lucas: sure it is.  someone like you needs to diminish their criminal impulses, not magnify them.  maybe some jazz or some classical.
warren: maybe you bite me.

do you have a favorite empire records quote?  and if your answer to that is no - drop everything you're doing and go watch this movie.  right now.

    1. I wish! No, it's just a quote from Empire Records. They should make a movie called Not Entirely Perfect though. An Empire Records sequel.

  10. Remember that one weekend this summer where I found out Kevin had never seen it and went on the quest to find it? "I do not regret the things I have done, but those I did not do."

  15. AJ.: You know that feeling when you get out of a warm bath? well... you make me feel like a bath.

I know, it's so cliche, but in 7th grade, I thought that line was THE EPITOME of romance. I wanted an AJ.

Lucas: I do not regret the things I have done, but those I did not do.

    He's so wise.

  26. So I have an Ethan Embry story. I randomly saw him in Vancouver. I walked by him a few times bc I wanted to take a pic without him seeing but was too chi9cken lol. THEN a few days later he was on my plane to LA. Again, no pic. But I saw him at baggage claim and got a pic of his butt haha! A few months later I saw him AGAIN in LA. So crazy!
