Let Me Just Confess

i wear pants, especially jeans, multiple times before washing them.  pants never get dirty, man.  it's science.

i'm a notoriously bad sleeper.  tossing and turning, never able to fall asleep.  until i take my melatonin, then i'm out like a light and i sleep until morning.  it's such an extreme difference, it's like i'm not even the same person.  melatonin pills are the greatest things ever invented.

i don't care which way the toilet paper roll faces.  up, down, sideways, not on the roll, i don't even notice.  with all of the little details i concentrate on in my day, toilet paper simply isn't one of them.

i don't 'do' t-shirts.  i don't like how they fit, i don't like how they look (sloppy), and i just plain don't wear them.  not to bed, not to work out in, not on game day.  i don't necessarily mean cute fitted t's from victoria's secret pink line with blinged out logos.  those are acceptable because they fit well (but to be honest, i don't wear many of those either.)  i really mean the baggy, cheap, usually free t-shirts people collect from advertisers of alcohol or buy at concerts.  i own 3 t-shirts.  fitted vs ones - chicago bears, iowa hawkeyes, and kentucky wildcats.  the end.

i love my hair.  i just do.  is it weird if my favorite feature about myself is my hair?  because it is.

i'm ridiculously intolerant of lateness, if i don't know it's coming.  john time is +30 minutes.  megan time is +1 hour.  eleni runs on greek time so i'm just excited when she show up at all.  i anticipate all of this, so it's okay.  what's not okay is unanticipated super lateness without any text or phone call.  you and i both know you're on your phone constantly.  show up on time or text me that you won't.  radio silence plus lateness equals inexcusable.

i'd rather buy it than diy it.  even relatively easy stuff.  sure, i probably could tape fabric over an ugly box to make it a pretty box.  but i'd rather just buy the pretty box.  i can't think of a single thing i'd actually diy.  crafting is not my strong suit.  if it were possible to fail girl scouts, i would have.

i strongly dislike nature.  another girl scout failure.  i've never camped.  unless it's a snowy blizzard or a field with a horse, the outdoors can bite me.  woods, camping, the beach - yuck.  just, gross.

i'd rather eat the same food every day.  i don't know how to make a dietary acceptable version of this but i would love to eat the same breakfast, the same lunch, the same dinner, every single day.  i don't like variety and i can be a pretty picky eater.

i want this outfit to be (a) in my current size and (b) an acceptable choice for every day wear.

  1. If I wear anything for 5 minutes I have to put it a the wash!! I'm crazy like that!!

  2. I don't wash my jeans hardly ever. I'd much rather buy than DIY. And I could totally eat the same thing every day. Cheers to picky eaters :)

  3. I'm the same way about washing my clothes... tops and undie-things are always washed even if barely worn.... but pants.. yep they're good :)

  4. wow, were complete opposites! I love nature, and im a little mental about which way the toilet paper faces. I DO wear pants a couple times before I wash them though.

  5. I am the same way about toilet paper. I don't care as long as there is some to use. I think my hair is my best feature too and I get so weird when it gets time to cut it! Long hair forever!!

  6. I wear pants forever...unless I go to a smoky bar then they go straight to the laundry basket. And I am the worst sleeper! I have to take NyQuil and melatonin to sleep good.

  7. I will wear pants as many times as I can before washing them but I love my t-shirts. It's probably and ex-tomboy thing and I have far too many. Also, AMEN for the unanticipated lateness. I can't stand that!

  8. I always wear my jeans multiple times before washing them.

I'm a horrible sleeper. Melatonin doesn't even work most of the time.

I'd rather buy it than DIY too.

    I'm always late.

  9. We are so much alike!

-I wear my jean numerous times before washing them.

-I don't wear t-shirts either. They aren't my style at all. I'm super girlie, so I would rather wear something else than a t-shirt.

-I hate when people are late. My husband is in the army, so he always says if you aren't 30 minutes early, you are late haha. I may not be that early, but I do like getting places early and hate waiting on others to get there (when they were supposed to be there!)

-I could get the same food everyday and never get sick of it. I'm pretty picky. I like routine. I do try new foods but it is not very frequently and at my own accord when people aren't pressuring me. I like what I like.

  10. I pretty much DO eat the same thing every day, minus the weekends (because the weekends are for eating greasy food and brunching). and I'm still alive... so it must be ok! and also, I agree with rest or else think it's perfectly acceptable and understandable. except nature... no nature? how? I guess that's why you live in a city.

  11. I usually put the toilet paper on as under, but really I could care less either way. And you should love your hair, its beautiful!!!

  12. Truly, I can't imagine why you wouldn't wear pants at least a few times before washing, especially jeans. My jeans are tighter fitting for the first wear out of the wash. You gotta break em in! So long as you wears the underwear's, it's all good, I say.

I'm like perpetually late though. :\

And your hair's has been flawless since Disney princess days (adorable photo btw) - you better love it! You woke up like that, huh?

    :)

    1. Hahaha yep, just wake up like that every day, with perfect hair ;) Actually it's not that bad to style. It doesn't hold curls well but otherwise it does what I want!
And yes to the underwear! As long as you've got that, your jeans are perfectly clean. Why make more work for yourself?!

  13. Right there with ya about eating the same meals. I've eaten oatmeal and toast for breakfast almost everyday for the past year and half. And then I even eat for dinner sometimes. Never gets old.

I'm known around the workplace as the picky eater so they let me pick where we eat whenever we get the chance to go out which is always good in my book. However, my super vegetarian friend recently told me I'm a "culinary downer" due to the lack of variety in my diet. Don't care...I EATS WHAT I WANTS!

  14. Doesn't EVERYONE wear jeans multiple times before washing them?! I wash mine when the butt gets saggy... fool proof scheduling.

  15. OMG we are long lost twins......I agree with everything but the DIY thing! However, I wouldn't say I LOVE diy, it's more that I'm such a scrooge I won't spend the extra dollar to buy it!

    1. None of my projects would turn out remotely well, so I'd just end up buying it anyway. At least I know enough about myself to not even attempt it!

  16. OMFG latelness. WORST EVER. it's rude and unacceptable. i am nearly 40; lateness should be eliminated by the time one is 28.

  17. Jeans get washed only when they start to lose their shape. Or if I spill something on them. If I had hair like yours (even when I had hair, it was not nice hair!) I would love it and run my fingers through it ALL DAY LONG. I suck at DIY, and I DONT do nature. Yucky.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Melatonin is a god send. And i seriously don't understand people who wash their jeans after one wear...

    ReplyDelete
  19. Omg the toilet paper facing the wrong way drives me out of my mind!! I literally cannot handle it!!

Also, i'm not okay with lateness...it's basically just rudeness.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I need to try Melatonin. I don't toss and turn once I'm "asleep" but I do have an awful time falling asleep at all. And if I washed my jeans every time I wore them, I'd be broke!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hahaha love this! I agree, its just science jeans don't get dirty. Buying something over DIY is the usually route I go as well, I just don't have the patient to figure out all those fancy DIY projects.

    1. Mine never turn out well, I learned a long time ago that I don't have the craftiness gene! I'd rather just buy something that looks perfect and be done with it!

  22. I should try Melatonin! Definitely don't mind wearing jeans a couple times either...I read once that if you dont want to wash them you can put them in a baggy and put them in the freezer overnight haha

  23. I'm +30 I hate that I'm chronically late but it happens. I have had trouble sleeping. I was going to talk to Dr. Sexy about that tomorrow. For the record I own absolutely 0 UK products. Even though they are technically my employer.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I hate the late! If you don't tell me you're going to be late I will bring the thunder down upon you.

I wear work pants and jeans multiple times before washing.

I will never make a nice craft. I will buy nice things.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I get upset when it's time to wash my jeans, they don't fit right when they come out of the dryer and I've got to wear them at least 2 times before they feel good again. Don't wash the pants!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'm the same with jeans- I'll wear them into the ground before washing them. They always feel too damn tight when they come out of the dryer anyway!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Haha SO AGREE with so many of these things. Jeans? Totally wear them OVER and OVER...and then over again without washing. I HAVE to take melatonin to sleep- at night. I can nap during the day like no one's business BUT at night I need SOMETHING. I, too, love my hair, hate tee shirts & I could easily eat the same thing day in and day out. Loved this list- always good to get to know you better! :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'm like, dumfounded. No variety...no beach. My heart just broke. I'm with you on the hair and pants thing though. Lateness more than 5-10 annoys me. My BFF is always +45-60 minutes late with no excuse.

    ReplyDelete
  29. We miiiiight be the same person. Except for the lateness thing. Jessica time is +10 minutes almost always. Also, I think one thing all people love about me is my hair. I just always have damn good hair.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I cant stand when people are late without letting me know! I wear pants multiple times before washing. While I love the beach, I hate all other out doorsy things. Unless it is drinking beer on a patio when the weather is nice :) The only time you will find me in a tshirt is if I am lounging at home. I am not the best at crafty things either. I like to think I can DIY but I just cant. I have a room full of unfinished DIY projects. Ooops.

  31. You know I love reading your posts! You just kill me :)
And I would totally eat the same thing for each meal every day of the week if I could! I like variety in my clothes, shoes, etc....not so much in my food. Plus I am super duper picky too!
And your hair is FAB-U-LOUS! (Say it like the song in High School Musical...yes I went there! lol)

    ReplyDelete
  32. LOL, well duh jeans never get dirty ;) ;) I would prefer to buy over DIY most things as well ... often times it costs more to make it yourself!!

  34. my boyfriend buys me a t every time he visits a brewery and it is a sweet gesture but I refuse to wear them too, i feel like a boy if my boobs aren't on display...also yeah jeans only need to be washed if you spill shit on them

  35. Wait, I thought everyone wore pants multiple times before washing...? No? Oh well. I love your hair too so that one is understandable.

    ReplyDelete
  36. it's really validating that almost every comment on here is like, nah, I never wash my jeans either. not even lying when I say I have a few pairs that might not have been washed in 2013. you know, the pairs I only wear once a week or so.

I'm dying to know what you sleep in (that sounds so much creepier than its meant to). but seriously, you only own 3 t shirts?! I hope you're okay w/ me always been the sloppy looking friend.

  37. I was with you on so many until the lack of food variety - I couldn't do it! I mean I could do Tex-Mex prettttty often but no, I need variety. Can't agree more on the camping, though. A friend just invited us and I shut her down before she was done with her plan. Not happening!

    ReplyDelete
  38. We have to be twins, I agree with you on pretty much all of these.
-I wear my jeans soooo many times before washing them, they are such a hassle to wash!
    -If I don't take a Zzquil, I won't fall asleep.
-T-shirts are only on my bum days at home, never out in public, hate them.
    -Your hair is pretty fabulous!!
-I tried to DIY and failed, I'll just buy it finished, thanks!
-I despise camping, I tried once and hated it so much! Glamping is the way to go, imo!
-I think that outfit is always an acceptable choice to wear daily.

  39. How can you not care about which way the TP goes?! That's blasphemy! I will change it at a damn STRANGERS house. I will change it in a public bathroom. Drives me bananas!
I wear the same black pants to work every damn day. I wash them every few days. I mean, I sit at a desk it's not like they're getting dirty.

    ReplyDelete
  40. -I will wear my jeans multiple times before I wash them as well.
-I could care less which way the TP goes, as long as I have it to use.
-My mom and I are notorious for eating the same thing for lunch for weeks at a time, drives my dad nuts.

  41. jeans can we worn at least three times before they need to be washed, thats the way I view it at least. but I own so many tshirts, I have four drawers stocked with tshirts. and I'm with ya on the lateness, I don't understand how people can be late, there's certain people I know will always be late and that's fine, well not fine but I'm used to it (Randy for example).

  45. yeah...pants don't NEED to be washed every time you wear them...they shrink and it's annoying!! i too would rather just buy the pretty box...thank god for esty!! however I love the beach...but would never camp out at one...hotel with beach access is perfect form of "camping out" hahah

  46. Yes every time to the first one!! I've been attempting to convince Kevin of this fact but it's still not happening.

  47. My husband thinks jeans need to be washed after every wear. It's ridiculous. So I just lie to him, fold them back up, and he thinks they've been through the wash! Evil wife.

  48. I'm so happy! I'm not the only none DIYer! I suck at DIY. I buy!

    ReplyDelete
  49. People wash their jeans after every single wear? No way!

And my absolute favorite thing about myself is my hair. I love it, and I tell everyone I love it. So I totally think you should just own it. :)

    ReplyDelete
  50. I'll keep an eye out for that dress... you never know.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I definitely "do" t-shirts and I look far from good doing it but t-shirt and jeans are just my thing (much to my girl mother's dismay). But oh how I rather buy it too - I call it supporting the economy :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. The toilet paper roll situation? Justin and I might kill each other over it one day. I could CARE LESS. Him? Not so much.

Um, I also love your hair. Now THAT is weird...

And the rest of these things? We are basically the same person. Also weird.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I like hardly ever wash my jeans, unless I was in a smoky place. I get my work pants dry cleaned every few wears though. Also, I am a terrible sleeper too, it's awful!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I'm with you on the pants! I wear my hoodies a few times too before they're ready for the wash!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Yes, yes, and yes to the first three. Jeans can be great for several days. I feel the same way about cardigans, hoodies, and scarves.
I am also like you about people being late. I am always early to anything if I can be. I actually had to force myself to learn to arrive only a couple minutes early to work so that I wasn't sitting around waiting for it to be acceptable to clock myself in. haha. It was sad. I'm always antsy when it's time to meet someone and they're not there yet, and I always struggle with knowing how long is the polite amount of time for me to wait before I call and try to patiently ask where they are. I just don't like it, and chances are I won't schedule a ton of get togethers with you if you are consistently unexpectedly late. I *can* handle expected lateness, though.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I wash jeans after a few wears or when they start feeling too stretched out. Work pants I wear 2-3 times (helps with packing too!). I can't believe you don't care about the TP, especially with how organized you are! And if I had your hair, I would love it too!!

    1. Yep, when they start to sag is when I wash them! Hahaha everyone thinks I'd be so OCD over the TP too, since I am with everything else, but I just never even notice. Probably I'm too busy noticing the empty kleenex box or the towel that isn't hanging straight!

  57. OMG the lateness. i am right there with you.
