10 Best // Jewelry Organization Options

5.29.2014

1. if only i were talented enough to diy this converted dresser option.  oh well, i can dream, right?  you could also use ceramic egg crates in a shallow dresser drawer for the same effect.

2. use a hanging option in your closet to keep everything together.  with just one set of earrings in each pouch or one necklace on each hook, it's easy to see and wear all your options.

3. try a decorative stand for easy access to your most worn pieces.

4. or an adorable a personalized acrylic tray.

5. if you don't want it on display, or maybe want to protect fancier pieces, hide them!

6. i certainly couldn't manage this on my own, so i'd have to buy it, but you could build an entire display shelf for jewelry, sunglasses, etc.

7. if you have the space, use a full length mirror with jewelry storage inside.

8. use stackable trays like steph for earrings and other small pieces.  it keeps them separated and easy to locate, while protecting against tarnishing.

9. if you have a lot of pieces, set it up as if it were a collection at a store like lauren using a shelving unit and cute decorative bowls and boxes to keep everything you have on display.

10. or try my system, which is to hang everything on a cork board with clear pushpins. it's like artwork on my otherwise bare walls.

how do you keep your jewelry in order?

  1. I like your cork board idea! I have a stand up jewelry box but I like the idea of displaying the fun pieces!

  2. I love your corkboard, it's like art. I have two things that hang on my walls for necklaces, and a bracelet holder so all of my pretties are on display.

Kathy also sent me a box from Stella & Dot that I keep my nicer bracelets and rings in, and of course my beloved acrylic compartments.

  4. i got a fancy hanging thing for jewelry that i use for necklaces and i repurposed my dad's old nuts/bolts drawer organizer. these drawers are so small (perfect for rings, bracelets etc) and the drawers are clear so i can see right into them without having to open the drawer first. i just don't like the ugly blue color but hey, beggars can't be choosers!

  6. Steve bought me a gorgeous jwelry chest as my wedding gift (with a diamond necklace inside! WOOT!) and I love it. But, since the jewelry is not out in plain sight, I never think to go through it. I love the simple cork board/push pins, cause not only everything out on display, but it looks cute! <3

  9. I have my cheaper jewelry hung on cup hooks. Its on the side of a large shelf I use for nail polish. My good stuff is hidden. I am thinking about moving my nail polish into a different type of storage. I haven't decided what I'll do with my jewelry if I do.

  10. I will have to look through all of these. I was just thinking the other day I need to organize what I have or get rid of it (I don't wear that much jewelry). I'm accessory challenged :) Right now it is all in an old school musical jewelry box, that I never look in.

  11. I like the corkboard idea! I have a stand for necklaces and a large jewelry trunk with dividers for earrings and bracelets, but that trunk has become a disorganized mess. I am on the look out for a better jewelry box for earrings especially.

  12. I have several different areas where my jewelry is kept. I have a standing box that has a little bit of everything, a small table jewelry box that has a random mix, some of my really long or chunky necklaces hand on the towel bar in my bathroom...and I am about to order a bracelet holder to display some of my really pretty bracelets on!

  13. Yours is super cute! I've ended up using push pins in my wall around my mirror for pretty pieces, but I absolutely love these organizers too...

  14. Great round up! I keep all of my earrings in a plastic container that's meant as a bead organizer. It has tons of little compartments which makes it easy to group the earrings together by "like" earrings - like keeping all of my "clear rhinestone" earrings together, or all of my blue earrings together.

  15. I have a desk tray in my dresser that has multiple trays to store my earrings, necklaces and watches. I may need to upgrade though since I'm running out of room! ;)

  16. Great idea for a post! I hang all my necklaces off of a cross I found at Home Goods. It has a lot of little swirls so they stay separated. Best choice I've ever made with jewelry.

  17. I have a jewelry box that my parents bought me a long time ago... maybe high school or college graduation? It's nice but a little formal for my taste, plus it doesn't really hold necklaces very well, they're basically all in a big jumble. I'd like to switch to something I can hang the necklaces on so they don't get tangled and maybe even use them as art, like you do! Great tips.

    1. I find that the old jewelry boxes work great for earrings and bracelets, but not so well for necklaces. Maybe necklaces are longer/bigger these days? They get too tangled in there. But you can always get something to hang just the necklaces and still use the jewelry box for the smaller things!

  18. I don't. I keep everything in a drawer. Oh wait! That's a lie. I forgot I got this hanger thing that goes in your closet. Like number 2, but all pouches. But most of my jewelry ends up back in my drawer because that's where it's easy. Walking alllll the way to my closet is far too hard. Duh. =)
