But Really, Who Would You Meet?

June 16, 2014

have you ever given an answer to the 'if you could meet anyone, dead or alive?' question?  i think you're supposed to have answers like jesus and ghandi.  i don't.  sure, i have some questions for jesus.  but maybe it's better to remain a mystery.  even so, he wouldn't be top of my list.  my list is way more superficial than that.  so if you could pick the people you wanted to meet without all the pressure of trying to sound sophisticated, who would you really pick?  my top 7 are:

alive:
-the queen of england.  she judges people so hard and i just love it.  kate is cool i guess, but i'd rather befriend the queen.  and then move in, because hawkeye was meant to be royalty.  she'll show those corgis what's up, i'm sure they don't even know.

-joshua jackson.  the mighty ducks, dawson's creek, ronnie & julie, fringe, cruel intentions, the skulls, i mean - we have a lot to discuss.  i need insider details on emilio estevez and katie holmes.  and tear, paul walker.  from someone who's nice to look at, obviously.

dead:
-ronald reagan.  my favorite president ever.  (sorry washington.)  i love that man, he'd be at the top of my list.

-john denver.  i need more songs from him and therefore i'd like to meet him just for a minute to say 'don't get on the plane man!'

fictional:
what, can't i want to be friends with fictional characters?

-brink.  i mean, i could put erik von detten and his fabulous hair in the living category, but if he didn't have the personality of brink in real life then i'd be sorely disappointed.

-dexter.  i've got a list for him.  we'd be buds, i'm certain of it.  and i'm way less judgmental and more emotionally stable than deb, so i think it would work out.

but mostly, i just want to meet christopher walken.  i can't explain my adoration of christopher walken.  it just exists.  oh wait, right, i remember.  because this.

  1. Oddly enough I would want to meet Orson Welles. I feel like the man was a genius but could never get his shit together after his mid-twenties. It would be fascinating to pick his brain.

  9. Christopher Walken is THE man! My favorite thing he has EVER said from a movie is "Up his ass" in Pulp Fiction. They way he says it... I mean... there are no words. He's funny. He's scary. He's a damn good actor.

  10. LOL LOL, I am cracking up at John Denver. My mom is a HUGE fan, and she had the amazing tickets my dad bought her for her birthday…. but someone (that's me) decided to be born 8 weeks early… on the day of the concert. She's never let me forget that.

I'm on season 7 of Dexter now. Hubba Hubba. I love him. And I'd most certainly give him a list.

Brian Williams- I love him, too. Plus he's from Jersey, funny and really smart.

  14. I met Joshua Jackson during the first season of Dawson's Creek, and by met I mean stood in a long line at a festival to get his autograph. He had bad skin. I love that Christopher Walken is on the fictional list. I would hope you would have a cowbell ready at the table.

Hmmm I would have to have Kate Middleton and Paul McCartney. And Marcus Mumford because I just love him. Clearly I have a thing for the Brits...

  15. Bill Clinton, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Nicks, Charlotte Bronte. I really think Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson would fit well in my circle of friends too.

  16. I feel you girl. The Queen foe sho! I love Kate, but she is toooooo nice. I need to gossip and talk bad about certain people and I really think Kate would hold me back. The Queen would be snapping her fingers at her servants for more tea. That's my kind of girl.

    1. Exactly! Kate is always on her best behavior. The Queen is like 'screw this, I'm the Queen! I do what I want!'

  21. Alive: Chris Hemsworth....I've kinda been obsessed ever since he graced aussie tv's years ago.
Dead: My paternal grandparents, I never got to meet them, they died before I was born
Fictional: Wade from Hart of Dixie....do I need to explain that?

  22. "Show those corgis what's up." Haha! This is why you're my favorite. And I love that you included Brink on the list - hell yes!

My list is pretty much full of fictional characters by the way (aside from Jared Leto because I mean I've talked about this). At the top of said fictional character list: Lizzie Bennett from Pride & Prejudice, Holden Caulfied from Catcher In The Rye, and a boy named Dexter from This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen.

  23. I love that you included Dexter lol.

I actually read a funny article about the Queen last night - she started marking all of her candy/nut bowls around her apartment and issued a letter to the guards and police officers telling them to keep their sticky fingers out of her nibbles lol.

  30. my sisters and I just watched Mighty Ducks last night and every scene I was just watching Joshua Jackson and thinking, huh, this really prepared you for all your blockbusters, like Urban Legends and Cruel Intentions.

I'd have to meet JT and Mindy Kaling and then life would be complete!
