How Swagbucks Paid for Christmas...6 Months Early

6.20.2014
quite a few readers asked for more swagbucks tips so here we are!

so far i have earned $355 since april 10 of this year.  $105 of that went to john's birthday gift (a blackhawks beer pong table off amazon) and $25 to father's day gifts for my dad.  which leaves me at $225 for christmas 2014.  another $55 (which i'll have cashed in by mid july) and i'll be done with money for christmas gifts.  except for john because i haven't figured out what to get him yet, but i'll earn the money for it eventually.  next up i'll just start padding my paypal account, since you can redeem swagbucks for paypal too, so i have cash to pay for other christmas things like holiday parties and decor.  which means $0 out of pocket spent on christmas, a holiday that normally has the numbers wearing off my credit card.  i'm psyched, to say the least!

so, in addition to the basics i listed here, here's a few more earning ideas for you:

special offers.  by far, this is the point earner.  i have yet to do any special offers that cost money though.  there are things i considered, like getting a julep box, but so far i've only done offers that don't cost anything.  these have usually been free trial things - trying hulu plus for a week, checking my credit score, trying audiobook.  as long as you cancel before the end of the trial period, you don't get charged.  hulu plus was tempting to keep, i assure you, but i'm already very attached to netflix.  so that is my biggest recommendation - keep your eyes open for the high point special offers.  they'll be on the front page or under the 'discover' tab.  people also talk about them on the facebook page so watch there for alerts.  (so i've heard, i don't have facebook.)  right now for example, you can check your credit score for free, as long as you cancel within the 7 day trial offer time period, and earn 1,200 swagbucks.  that's $12.

meet your daily goal.  on the left side of the front page is your daily goal meter.  it fluctuates based on your earnings but as a newbie, your goal will be low and very attainable.  once you meet that point goal, you get a bonus, mine is usually around 10 points.  (all of those bonuses get paid on the 5th of the next month, not that same day, fyi.)  there's also bonus points for streaks - if you hit the goal for 7 days in a row, you get 25 more bonus points, and there's points for 14 and 21 days in a row as well.  do it every day for a month, you get 300 bonus points. (also paid out on the 5th of the next month.)  so just log on each day and meet the goal!  it's worth it.  i do far less earning on the weekends, but i still meet my goal.  there's also a secondary goal, you can get many more bonus points for meeting that, but it does not affect your streaks.  so last month, i met my goal every day for the month, got 300 extra points on june 5.  i also hit the daily goal and the secondary goal a lot of the days (may was my biggest earning month) and got over 700 bonus points for that also on june 5.  it was a happy day!

read.  a quick and easy point earner is the new 'read' section, also under the 'discover' tab.  you get points for checking out the books listed.  this changes often, about once a week.  you get points for reading excerpts and signing up for the author's email list.

surveys.  i stick with the gold surveys and the targeted email surveys.  for the targeted email surveys, you fill out your profile so when you get emailed, you almost always qualify.  these are worth 2 times the points, so if it says 85 points, it's actually 170.  these also aren't very long.  for the gold surveys, they change daily.  you get 1 point if you get disqualified, up to 5 points per day.  i just keep trying til i get one, since they won't be there tomorrow anyway.  these are high value, right around 100 points.  they also show how long it'll take, which is helpful.  i always start with the ones that say they only take 5 or 10 minutes! (it's always shorter than what's listed anyway.)

participate in the specials.  for every holiday they have something going on.  extra points for swag codes and searching usually.  the easiest one is searching - you get 'special bills' when you search during one of their holidays and if you collect them all, you automatically get a bunch of bonus points.  it's points on top of what you're already doing, so might as well enjoy the holiday fun.

oh and it's another bonus now that if you sign up here and earn 1500 points in 1 month, you automatically get another 500.  do nothing but take 15 10 minute surveys worth 100 points and bam, you just earned $20.

it's free to sign up, so just give it a try for a couple days.  if you hate it, at least you'll walk away with $5.  but i think you'll love it!
