Choose Your Own Adventure {Link Up}

February 5, 2015

it's that time again - time to link up your post about how you did on your monthly goals.  the theme for january was complete.  to just finish something on your to do list.  my goal was to complete the declutter project in my apartment.  i said my apartment because i know i have a couple things at my parents house that i won't get to until later this month.  but i was totally successful in completely decluttering my apartment this month!  i posted about my last round here.  and the best part was completing my household inventory list.

decluttering is a fantastic feeling.  if you haven't done it, i recommend you start during spring cleaning this year.  it feels good to not have a closet full of crap or clothes you never wear.  i think getting dressed is actually easier with a limited wardrobe, because you can actually see everything and you know you like everything.  if you need help, ideas, or inspiration, you can check out my organize pinterest board.  and if you want help paring down your closet, check this one.

for february, the theme is create.  create a new scrapbook, write a book, start a painting, actually attempt a pinterest project, makeover a room that's been bugging you, whatever your creative side tells you to do.

this one is tough for me, since i consider myself a very un-creative person.  so i'm definitely going to stretch the meaning, because you won't be seeing diy anything out of this girl.  goal 1 - create a recipe post.  i'm making my favorite 3 ingredient chocolate peanut butter fudge for john for valentine's day, so i'm determined to actually photograph my efforts and make a post about it.  goal 2 - create more blog posts in general.  i have a calendar and ideas for every day from now until the summer, but sitting down and writing them out has been a challenge lately.  goal 3 - create a vegas itinerary.  i need to book flights and hotel rooms!  and sketch out some ideas of what we all definitely want to do.  for me, it's fremont street and the bellagio fountains, but i'll have to get the guys' input too.

so what are your february goals?  how did january go for you?

general guidelines:
1) if you want, follow your hosts not entirely perfect, life according to steph, and keeping up with ashley and cody.  (i like twitter, that way i can follow you back and tweet you encouragement throughout the challenge.)
2) link up your post about your results below for the month - we want to hear all about what you did, how you fared, what resources you used, what you'd recommend to others, etc.
3) please link to your actual post about your results.  links not having to do with the challenge will be deleted.
4) feel free to use this button, created by the lovely sarah at venus trapped in mars.

Not Entirely Perfect

  1. I need to clean up my Pinterest boards but it's really a daunting task.

  2. I stretched the meaning, too. :P I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Also, at the beginning of the year I had some grandiose ideas about all the DIY I'd do, and after just one project last month, I'm going to go back to doodling and graphic design. DIY is not my thing.

3 ingredients is a recipe I might actually use! Can't wait to see the post.

  3. I just laid waste to some of my pinterest boards on the train this morning. I did a big clean up last year but my goal is to continually be evaluating them.

Create is hard for me too.

  4. Three cheers for me actually succeeding at this for the first month ever Last month I completed my first short story of the year! Don't have a post about it yet as it's forthcoming but soon! I did not however complete my other project, my apartment. But we can ignore that.
I love February's adventure, create, because I'm in the beginning stages of creating something I'm really excited about. A love when coincidences happen like that :)

  5. I need to do a 2nd round on my closest. A more honest go through...

  6. My Pinterest boards need a lot of work. It is daunting though. The recipe for the fudge sounds amazing, can't beat PB and Chocolate!

  7. wow! you have a lot on your list to create! I love it!!

  8. I took create in the same manner that you did. I'm not crafty at all so I decided I'd create a couple of lists and a recipe binder. I'm excited for your chocolate peanut butter fudge recipe. Three ingredients is my kind of fudge (the recipe I usually use has about 18. Too many).

  9. i'm super not crafty but i am trying to push my creative side a little this month. i wish i had thought about creating the itinerary for europe as a goal, although i've totally already started it - planning is my jam!

  10. Every time I read your decluttering posts I realize that I desperately need to start doing this. My closet is full of clothes I don't really wear anymore, and the guest room closet is the place where things in our apartment go to die. (Okay, not really ... But I'm sure we could easily get rid of at least 75% of the stuff in there and not even miss it.)

On another note, I'm excited for the fudge recipe! I've been on a fudge kick lately.

  11. Peanut butter fudge? You can send some here, thanks! :)

  12. Oh I totally bombed out in holidays, visitors blah blah, pumped about February though and I've already started!

  13. decluttering is totally fabulous. I had plans to join in January and flopped. And February might be a flop because creative I am not. I'll give it a go but if not theres always March :)

  14. i LOVE me some decluttering and organizing. my theme for february's linkup is to create my command center. right now it's not going so well since i've been taking advantage of work fuck off time to the max but as of tomorrow (monday), no more laziness and i WILL get this shizz done!

  15. Oooh, I may jump in on the choose your own adventure for this next month! It's right up my alley. :)

  16. I would definitely classify as making a yummy dessert as a create goal. Vegas sounds like fun!

    1. The dessert was a hit! I can't wait for Vegas, I definitely need a vacation.
