Confessing More Unpopular Opinions

yeah... not the first time i've talked about my unpopular opinions on this site.  ah well.  on to the confessing, because that's what happens on wednesdays:

- in a similar vein as that post, yes, it costs more to execute someone then it does to keep them in prison for life.  however, that's not a reason against the death penalty, that's a reason to streamline it.  and if we can please start executing animal abusers, i'll press the button.  i know my mom is going to say 'two wrongs don't make a right' and to that i say 'no, but it does make it even.'  and i'm a lawyer.  and ocd.  i like even.

- i don't like stitch fix.  i mean, i understand the appeal - no malls and crowds, a surprise at your door, someone picking stuff out for you.  and i've seen bloggers post adorable photos of themselves in the things they got.  my girl meagan comes to mind.  but i could never do it.  maybe i'm just more picky than others?  i don't like other people picking my clothes.  also, the price.  holy bananas.  you could spend on a stitch fix in one month what i spend on clothes in an entire year.  (in case you're wondering what that number is, like $200.  maybe.  i dunno, i haven't added but i rarely clothes shop and when i do it's (a) with gift cards and (b) on the clearance rack and/or from target.  or the thrift store. anything nicer i own is because my mother bought it for me for christmas.)  anyway, i think my feelings towards stitch fix is the same as everything else in my life - i'm too cheap and i hate surprises.

- how do people live making every. little. situation a big issue regarding politics, social economics, race, etc? there's legitimate things out there to worry about, and then there's spending every moment of your day being an activist for 4000 causes, including whether or not the guy who dropped a gum wrapper on the north side of the street did so because that was the poor side, and lord knows the city only cleans the south side of the street because that's where the rich people are. come. on. isn't it exhausting? can't you just look at a puppy and smile for 2 seconds of your day, and admit the man dropped the gum wrapper because he's a lazy fuck?  not everything is the perceived slight you want to think it is.

- sour and bitter are the best flavors, and your sugary sweet pink starburst are the worst ever.  give me the yellow and orange ones.  or better yet, warheads.  i miss warheads.

- if i see one more damn loop giveaway on your instagram, i'm unfollowing.

- i finally made it through all the seasons of friends.  sucked the whole way through.  i've happily moved on to lie to me, which is fantastic.

- all my favorite shows have some sarcastic, douchey yet enjoyable boss.  like lie to me and house.  i have no idea why that is.

- kids. cost. money.  why do people not realize that?  if you're complaining your life is impossible and you can't live on $20k a year, it's not going to magically improve once you have 3 kids with no salary increase.  it's not exactly rocket science.  you're free to keep on complaining, but quit acting surprised that i refuse to take your calls any more.

- pinterest has been on a crappy kick lately.  nothing new, which is impossible because bloggers put up new, pinnable content every single day.  so why does my feed suck?  maybe i'm just not following the right people - leave me your pinterest link.

- diets be damned, i'm ordering pizza for lunch.  because it's my half birthday and that's what you do on half birthdays.

okay so that last one was just more of a statement than i confession.  what unpopular opinion do you have today?

  1. Oh, it's your half birthday? I'm eating lunch out then.

People are so black and white anymore. There is no grey. It's exhausting.

YES TO THE LOOP GIVEAWAYS. Not doing it, hating on it, and unfollowing it.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Happy 1/2 Bday! :) Cheers from Ohio! I will never enter any more loop giveaways... I saw one that was an amazing prize so I started doing it thinking I'd follow like 6 more people but OMG, like 30 people later?! NO. NEVER AGAIN. I think people doing loops should say, hey there are 712 accounts to follow in the caption so I know not to waste my time. Also, I have never seen a single episode of Friends, don't think I'll start now.

  3. oh it's your 1/2 birthday, MY perfect excuse to order pizza too, I mean, I need to celebrate as well right?! =)

    ReplyDelete
  4. Is it wrong that these are seriously my favorite posts you do? lol! Maybe it is just because I think the same way on so many of these! Yeh for 1/2 birthdays!
And I could go on and on about kids costing money, hence why I have only one! I know people that complain about struggling every day with the THREE kids they have and yet are trying for a 4th because they say they deserve to have another!

    ReplyDelete
  5. I agree with all of this, especially executing animal abusers!
and all the damn social justice warriors all over the internet are really getting on my last nerve. great example of dropping the gum wrapper because it's the poor side... people are THAT ridiculous now. it's annoying and disgusting to see. ALSO about 99% of them are hypocrites!
and don't even get me started on people that have a shit ton of kids but complain about money.
    ugh I hate people.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I loathe loop giveaways too! I'd love to have you follow me https://www.pinterest.com/bldeskins/

    ReplyDelete
  7. Love it. We definitely have different opinions on spending money (don't read my spending recap at the end of the month, you might have a heart attack), but I'm with you on executing animal abusers. Also, I have unfollowed people for loop giveaways, and orange/lemon starbursts are far superior to pink and red! And I think Friends sucks too - haven't even watched most of it!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Haha I love these and have one in my head because they're so fun!

Amen on stitchfix. I like it in theory but too damn expensive. WTF with loop giveaways lately? Does anyone actually win them? Who can follow all of those rules? I liked Friends when it was on but it doesn't stand the test of time and I just can't suspend my disbelief to watch it anymore. Monica was a chef yet she was always around? How did Rachel become a buyer?

My half birthday doesn't exist (April 31st) so perhaps I'll celebrate yours instead. But definitely not with a warhead because we just have to disagree on that.

  9. HATEEEE THE LOOP GIVEAWAYS. IT SERIOUSLY MAKES ME INSANE

    ReplyDelete
  10. Social issues are exhausting. And some people definitely get so fixated on an idea that they see it all the time regardless of what's really there. I always thought the death sentence should be about protecting the rest of society, not punishment, and not saving money. Sure we can put people in prison, but with a recidivism rate of 68%, that's hardly preventing future crime. And in the case of a murderer, especially a repeat offender, the cost of the innocent lives to find out if they'll continue the same pattern or be "rehabilitated" this time, is too high.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Yes to every last one of these!!! I see all the Stitchfix posts too and I am forever thinking...sure that top is cute on you but $98 for that???? I could buy 4 of those at Nordstrom Rack AND A necklace. And who's idea was it to do giveaways on Instagram? We get enough of that shit on blogs, Twitter....why did you have to take away the Insta too and fill it with BS??? And animal abusers should be abused in whichever way they hurt the animal, including death. Eye for an eye yo! I bitched about people having to say things to pregnant women and mother's today because I am sick of everyone thinking their way is the only way or right way. Why do people have to suck so much? Also, the staged photos all over the place. Cant we all just be real again?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Here's my pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/briannemcc/ although don't expect to be impressed because I don't use it nearly as much as I used to.

I don't do stitch fix either. I'm way too cheap. I don't understand why I would pay for a box & potentially not want any of it...and then even if I do pay a ridiculous amount more for each item.

    Watermelon warheads were my favorite!

    ReplyDelete
  13. I also have a love/hate relationship with Stitch Fix. It has forced me to stop running out to pick up clothing that I don't really want because I "need' something to wear. There are no more clothing emergencies. BUT, they get it right about as often as they get it wrong. So, it's always a gamble.

I agree about the issues with Pinterest lately - I'm convinced that the "picked for you" feature is what is screwing up my feed, but who has the time to go through and mark all the junk I don't want to see again off on my feed?

I'm here if ya wanna follow: https://www.pinterest.com/cheryl_miles/

    ReplyDelete
  14. Everyone eats out on my half birthday! It's a celebration!
I agree. The world is grey, and it's fine to be passionately black and white about something you believe in, but you cannot possibly care that much and be that hard nosed about SO MANY THINGS. it's nuts.
Loops are driving me bonkers. I can't. I just can't.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Thank you! Yes, I agree - they need to say how many new accounts you're going to have follow. Because they're way too big and ridiculous. And does anyone win? Has anyone ever announced the winner on their instagram? because that I have not seen.
yeah, don't start Friends. It did not stand the test of time.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Absolutely!! Everyone celebrates today!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Haha I think they're my favorite too. Sometimes it's just necessary!
Having one kid is perfect, that's what my parents did ;) And I was expensive. I had surgeries and private school and my dad even paid for college. They'd be broke if they had another kid after me. There's nothing wrong with just one! No one 'deserves' more - if you can handle more, that's great. But if you complain about money you need to understand that people are going to de-friend you so fast.

    ReplyDelete
  18. They are that ridiculous! Not everything in the world is out to get them like they make it seem. But of course, nothing bad happens to other people, it's only ever against them. Ugh.
People are the worst some days, they really are. It should not be a surprise that kids are expensive. You want fancy travel and a giant house and no debt when you're 97, don't have kids. It's a valid option.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I'm totally stalking your pinterest, trying not to pin 20 things at once and annoy my followers. So I just hit like on everything so I can re-pin slowly haha. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Oh I definitely don't fault you for your spending money! Everyone has different priorities. (Plus I like reading your fix posts!) You'd cringe to see what I spend on my dog in a month.
Hooray fellow lemon/orange starburst lover! We're a rare breed. But it works out for me when people don't want those colors.

    ReplyDelete
  21. They need to stop, it's ridiculous. They're so extensive and does anyone even win?!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I love them too, it's cathartic :)
Right?!! I keep saying no one wins those giveaways, I've never seen anyone announce a winner.
Yeah Friends just isn't good. I like the random moment near the end when Joey calls them out for sitting around the coffee shop mid morning instead of being at work, like real people. I can't believe it lasted 10 seasons with that Rachel Ross drama. Unreal.
You can absolutely celebrate with me today!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Definitely agree. It's just a holding area, it's not about rehabilitating any more. They really don't even offer much to try to get them rehabilitated, it's really the prisoner that needs to make the initiative. So I'm perfectly fine with using the death sentence and keeping the rest of society safe. No one benefits from a murderer sitting in a jail cell for 50 years.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Even the $20 stitch fix styling fee, I could get 5 tags still on tops at the thrift store for $20. Clothing costs just aren't a priority in my budget.

I love that idea, hurt them how they hurt the animal. I'd happily do it! Tie people to train tracks, take their eyes out, light them on fire, chain them up and make them fight to the death. It's sick what people do to innocent animals.
Yeah there's a million different ways to parent. You don't need to tell moms what to do. If they're screwing up that badly, it's on their family to help them. But likely you just have a different opinion, so save it for parenting your own kids.

    ReplyDelete
  25. OK, I totally get why loop giveaways are annoying. REALLY, I do. BUT, I find the repost giveaways MORE annoying. At least loop giveaways are over in one fell swoop. I can scroll for a second and they're all done, because they're posted at once. But the repost giveaways will make their appearance for days on the feed. FOR DAYS.

    ReplyDelete
  26. If stitch fix were more successful in their picks, it might be worth. But I've seen a lot of disappointment over them. And personally, i think I'd always be disappointed in something I didn't totally pick myself. I have 'anything you can do, I can do better' syndrome.
Your friend would make me bonkers. No, your kid does not need to wear those clothes! Your kid needs to EAT. That's just immaturity, you're really not ready to be responsible for another human life if that's how you treat it.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yay! Just followed you. It's cool, you have tons of pins that I have every intention of thoroughly digging through.
I agree - they keep your $20 even if you like nothing. I'm not risking $20 for a maybe!
My favorite was lemon, I thought it was the most sour. But they were all good. I wonder if they're still around somewhere. I want one.

    ReplyDelete
  28. They are! I'm pretty sure it's all year round (try Walgreens??) but I know for sure around Easter because last year for Easter my mom got me a warhead Easter egg. It had the hard candy, the chewy candy, & the spray.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I think it's the gamble as much as the price that I don't want to risk. I'd be so disappointed if they got a box totally wrong, and then I'm still out $20!
I agree with the picked for you issues. It's not always that I don't like it, it's just that they keep showing the same things over and over.
Off to check out your boards now! Don't mind me as I dig through all your old pins ;)

    ReplyDelete
  30. ahhh so true I totally forgot about those! yes, that's 1000 times more annoying than regular loop giveaways. And I'm still not certain anyone wins any of those.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Oh I must find them!! walgreens is right next door, I'm definitely going!

    ReplyDelete
  32. i haven't been on IG lately because i can't stand those giveaway things. and those people who are all up in everyone's business and have a whole lot to say about everything political/social etc? STFU already.

    ReplyDelete
  33. look giveaway drive me nuts!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Loop giveaways. I want to stab myself in the eye every single time.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Orange starbursts are my jam. Kids cost lots of money. Abstinence only education does not work. EVER. People who tell me that undocumented students aren't an education issue - just an immigration one. People who think vocational-tech programs are only for poor kids, not their kids.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I already have started unfollowing loop giveaway-ers because they are irritating as hell. Also, I love your response to "two wrongs don't make a right" (how has it never occurred to me before?) and will use it in the future. Agreed on kids, stitch fix, animal abusers, and those who cry foul every damn day too. Not sure if this is where you were going with it, but it's the same type of person who demands a "trigger warning" on every type of consumable media because they never had to learn coping mechanisms or who throws around "oppressing" when they mean "inconveniencing" because in every situation there HAS to be a victim, and they'll find a way to make themselves such. Oops, I ranted. Happy half birthday!

I am totally all for the Death penalty! I'm not sure I 100% agree that it costs more than a life sentence As you said, its priceless for the peace of mind and reassurance that the criminal wont repeat . Some of the Friends episodes are funny but I didn't get the hype like the rest thinking it was the best show ever. Yum pizza! Oh and here's my pinterest in case you want to look around.

  39. Ugh.. the loop giveaways I could not agree more. The last thing I need is for Instagram to irritate me like Facebook does. And I've been experiencing the same problem with Pinterest. I seem to have more "suggested pins" than pins from people I actually chose to follow the past few months :-P

    ReplyDelete
  40. Ahhh so many of these hit the nail on the head. The 'making everything a huge issue' - i swear people just want something to bitch about. if it's not one thing it's another. and on a slow day, they just make something up! ugh!

And.. loop giveaways. or giveaways that you have to do 97 things to enter.

I also haven't joined StitchFix. I'm just not on board.

I HATE "picked for you" on Pinterest. I x them out and block all future posts from them when I see them in my feed! (https://www.pinterest.com/nicnac429)

    ReplyDelete
  41. The instagram loop giveaway has been KILLING me lately. I actually have taken to unfollowing if I see them in my feed too much. That's not why I joined Instagram, and it's not what I want clogging up my feed! Kudos to you! Also, Orange starbursts are indeed the best starbursts.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Agreed. You may be passionate about whatever cause it is you're going on about on twitter, but not everyone else is. Not everyone else shares your viewpoint either and that doesn't make them wrong. People just get so ridiculous.
You should instagram more, I always like your shots.

    ReplyDelete
  43. It's insane, it's just too much and hope the trend dies soon!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Warheads! Yes! I miss those things so much! Also Lie to Me is pretty much every kind of amazing. I pretty much just pin wedding things and style ideas, but I'm @paperswalloweve on Pinterest. :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. They're the worst. I feel like they lose as many followers as they gain at this point, so why do they keep doing them?!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I understand abstinence only education from the catholic standpoint, but you're just cheating the kids. And these days there are worse consequences than teenage pregnancy so you might as well give them all the facts up front. They're smarter than we give them credit for.
I can't believe there's people who think it's only an immigration issue? There's school underfunding, stress on limited resources, an uneducated workforce... how are those not also education issues?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Rant away girl, that's what Wednesdays are for ;) Ugh trigger warning. Killing me lately. Yes, those are all the same type of person! I'm not writing trigger warning before every article I ever post about a diet or fitness because it may feature disordered eating and someone out there may have had bulimia in the past... this is the real world. If you can't handle the article, get off the internet. Oppressing is a big one too. Not everyone is out to get you in every situation, believe it or not. Some people will just always have victim mentality and they don't want to move out of it.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I agree, it's priceless to me too! People argue that it costs too much because of all the appeals they get in the court system. Which is true so... give them less appeals! Seems logical to me.

Don't mind me while I dig through your pinterest, I like going back and checking out old pins!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Yes to the people who make everything an issue. Just stop, it's exhausting. The loop giveaways are so annoying. No I will not stop by 50 different instagrams so you can annoy me more?! I'll pass.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I had no idea what a fkn loop giveaway was until about a week or two ago and I had to pay to join, which I think it just silly. Pay to get followers, essentially and be annoying as shit to everyone and anyone. Yeah no thanks.

I'm also in agreement with stitch fix. No thanks is rather not go through the hassle of sending shit back based on how many people I've read that said most of it is crap and stupidly expensive.

    ReplyDelete
  51. www.pinterest.com/lnbjjf if you want to indulge...

I'm also sick and tired of what Pinterest THINKS I want to look at!!! I end up giving up after 3.4 seconds and onto the next app.

    ReplyDelete
  52. While we won't agree on friends or on yellow stardusts, Im with you on the death penalty. I like even too. I agree with the loop giveaway thing ... maybe I'm weird but i don't like giveaways on instagram in general and never participate.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I've had terrrrible luck with Stitch Fix for the same reasons - I'm too cheap and too picky. I keep asking them for lowest price stuff possible, and keep getting $60-70 tops. (Compare to last week where I got 2 dresses I <3 + clearance shorts at Target for like $55 total!)
And feel free to stalk: pinterest.com/Crystal11

    ReplyDelete
  54. Still don't understand how one could dislike red wine ;)

    ReplyDelete
  55. Seriously though, what's up with Pinterest? It gives me more "suggested" crap than what I really want to see.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I agree with these opinions for one :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. Harsh, but I don't think I disagree with any of it :) Especially the part about animal abusers. The world has no room for that kind of human filth. If they don't value a life then why should we value theirs? Also, here ya go: https://www.pinterest.com/theMrsMattevi/

    ReplyDelete
  58. Lie to Me is an awesome show! I wish there were more episodes. I just started watching Younger - hilarious, but hte episodes are only like 22 minutes long. Boo!

I'm all for the death penalty. I think my history and what I went through is a huge reason why I am for the death penalty. There are just some people who do things that are terrible enough that they deserve punishment like that. On the flip side, though, I guess I understand why people are against it because innocent people have been wrongfully convicted and killed. Sigh.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I don't know if stitch fix even ships to Canada, but I don't think it would be for me. I've seen other people have success with it, but I agree that it's expensive and everything I really need to replace in my wardrobe right now is so basic that I can find it for myself and cheaper too!

People that try to turn everything into something are exhausting to be around. No thanks! You can be passionate, but there needs to be some balance. I prefer to choose my battles and let go of the rest.

And yes to sour candy! I like things that have a kick to them. That's also why I like to taste my alcohol ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  60. Love this, and I have a lot of the same complaints. My pinterest sucks too, so I'm hoping people leave theirs here so i can follow.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Unpopular opinions are the best opinions because I tend to agree with them. Like what you wrote here. I agree with so much. Pinterest does suck lately, Instagram loops annoy me, and the thing with kids and money? Soapbox issue for me. I do disagree with the Starburst assessment, though. I loathe orange. But I loathe all orange flavored foods. Including oranges.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I think that's the problem too, it's all suggested stuff and they suggest the same ones over and over. And then when I visit someone I actually follow, I see all this stuff they pinned that I never saw in my feed! It's annoying.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Yes, that's definitely what it is - they just want to complain. Why? You're just ruining your own day and those around you. It's ok to be happy once in awhile.
I try to block out the picked for you pins too, but they never stop! I feel like I'm not getting the pins from a lot of people I follow, which sucks. Following you now! Don't mind me while I dig though all your old pints ;)

    ReplyDelete
  64. I've unfollowed a couple in the last few days. I guess I can tolerate one, but this one girl did 3 in a row. Um, no. BYE. Not at all what I want to see in my feed!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Someone said they still have warheads at walgreens, at least around Easter time. I WILL FIND THEM.
I had no idea about Lie to Me, but now I'm hooked. I wish there were more episodes.
I think I already do follow you on pinterest, but I'll double check!

    ReplyDelete
  66. I was not following you, I fixed that :)

    ReplyDelete
  67. And the people who do the loops never do just one. So it's constant. How is that a way to grow your followers? No one is actually following because they like your content!

    ReplyDelete
  68. hell yes about stitch fix. i do like pink starburst tho. and the kids thing PREACH. if you can't save, you can't have kids...

    ReplyDelete
  69. Checking your pinterest now! I'll be stalking all your old pins, don't mind me. Yeah the suggested pins suck, they never show me the pins from the people I actually follow anymore.
The loop giveaways are obnoxious, I hope people realize how much everyone hates them and quit doing it! Plus, no one ever wins so what's the point?

    ReplyDelete
  70. Even works. People have to know there's real consequences.
Yeah the instagram giveaways just don't make sense. It's really not exposing your content to any more followers who are actually going to give you likes and interaction, so what's the point? To annoy people? Mission accomplished.

    ReplyDelete
  71. The suggested stuff sucks. It clutters my feed so I don't see things from people I actually follow!

    ReplyDelete
  72. $60 is the lowest price?! I can't do that, no way. Target is the way to go. The two dresses I wear most often cost me like $15 each there. That's how shopping should be!
I'll be stalking away today, don't mind me :)

    ReplyDelete
  73. It's nice to know I'm not alone ;) Some days I feel like it's just mean thinking all these things are totally ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  74. You know, since this post I did find one I like - Apothic red blend. Doesn't give me the hangover. But I'll still take champagne or a beer any day!

    ReplyDelete
  75. That is my favorite grocery store brand!!!

    ReplyDelete
  76. Is that really true that execution costs more than life in prison? That blows my mind. I can easily grab some potassium chloride from work and start doing that shit myself. Easy peasy, KCl is cheap. I was pretty much clapping along to all of this. I couldn't stand Friends, especially the longer and longer it drug on. What is an Instagram loop???
    http://www.pinterest.com/marlajan81

    ReplyDelete
  77. I'm pro death penalty. If you hurt animals or kids I am pro torture while we wait for your death sentence. You already follow me on pinterest and I agree its been boring lately. I am pretty sure I've pinned the same things 20 times. Oj lord you are right on the kids thing. Don't get me wrong I am a big fan of mine. I'm an even bigger fan now that they are older and I can borrow their clothes.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Yep it's true. But because of the legal system. We give them appeal after appeal, so they just waste time and resources - state's attorneys, their staff, court time, it's freaking expensive to litigate. But that's not a reason against the death penalty, that's a reason to streamline it and cut out the endless appeals shit.
Ohhh the loop. You'll see. A bunch of people get together to give stuff away. So you like the first person's photo an follow them. On that photo, it links to the next person, then you follow that person. That person will have the same photo, with a new person to follow. And around and around until you end up at the person you started with. And you have to follow all of them (and tag your friends) in order to win. It could be 30, 50, 70 people you have to follow. It's obnoxious.
About to stalk your pinterest :)

    ReplyDelete
  79. If you're already living paycheck to paycheck, kids isn't going to change that. If you're not comfortable with that, you really ought to rethink your choices!
Just saw another stitch fix post about a totally disappointing box. It's just a whopping fail in my eyes.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Yeah but you've never complained about them costing money. Nor your pets. Plus you're all DIY and money smart.
I would torture animal abusers for sure. I would take great pleasure in it actually.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Amen! And if you don't value a life as pure as a loving dog, what are you capable of next? That's why serial killers are always said to have started with animals. Terrible.

  82. Quite a few good options! I've scrolled through the ones people left so far, they have a lot of pins I hadn't seen yet so I'm happy.

  83. Mine loathe is cherry. Anything remotely resembling cherry, I hate it!
I like these posts too. When I'm on social media I feel like I'm the only one feeling this way, but when I do the posts, I find tons of other people who agree with me! I guess we're just quietly shaking our heads at the other nonsense, without saying anything.

  85. Amen to the whole kids thing, even though I have one I totally get it. I have friends who whine about not having money to make ends meet, and then in the next sentence they're asking me "so you're not going to have any more kids?", well what do you think, you just got through telling me how expensive 5 kids are, I think I'll just stick with the one thanks very much.

Totally with you on the stitch fix thing too, I just don't spend that much money on clothes every month, and I kinda wonder what the hay are these woman doing with all these clothes, how big are their closets, and exactly why does a person need that many clothes anyway?

My addition to this post, drug addicts who have babies / children. If you're a drug addict and you've proven that you cannot kick the habit, you should be sterilised so you can't have kids. It sounds harsh I know, but it makes me so angry, these beautiful babies born drug addicted into horrific situations because their parents couldn't manage to control themselves and use some birth control.

  86. WTF is a loop giveaway? On second thought, if I don't know what it is, that's a good thing! I agree on the activist rant. I also agree that Stitch Fix is a complete rip off. I've seen some of the things they send on sites like Zulily for equal or less. I get one maybe once every 2 months just to get a new "statement piece" or something fun that I normally wouldn't pick for myself. But $78 for a maxi dress. GTFOH!

  87. Ah! I really hope that you don't have to wait all the way until Easter to find them!

  88. "it's not going to magically improve once you have 3 kids with no salary increase." OH MY GOSH YES.

  89. LOL I agree on your points except on the following: 1) Pink starburts are my fave so there's that and 2) I find Friends pre-Joey dating Rachel, funny. Everything else agree wholeheartedly.. People love to whine about money yet keep poppin' kids - why not work on finding a higher paying job? I have one and I'm done because I like being able to go to Ulta and get whatever whenever; I like being able to spoil my kid and being able to spoil myself. Another child would throw that balance off - nope. Kids are exhausting, no thanks. Lol. Agree on the even aspect of the death penalty- I'm sorry but some bitches need to die. I can dress myself so I'll pass on that Stitch Fix, 200 bucks my hiney. Have a great weekend Stephanie! -Iva

  90. And this is why you're awesome. :-D

  91. death penalty thumbs up, why do those that can least afford it have kids, pets and smoke.. and I thiught I was the only person that a) wants to pick out my own clothes and 2) thought the prices were crazy. You are so on point with my thoughts.

  92. Totally agree about the kids thing! For some reason it seems like the people who are most irresponsible with money are also the ones constantly dropping kids... I know you get more tax deductions and all but still. I have friends who live paycheck to paycheck that want kids and I'm like... dude, you need to get your own life straightened out before you bring a new person into the world.

  94. Thanks Alana, and welcome! I'm glad you found me too, probably a good post to start on ;)

  95. Nothing wrong with having one perfect kid ;) That's what my parents did! And I was expensive so I certainly can't fault them for not having more.
Agree! Especially when they keep all the stuff in the box. That's 5 new items a month, plus whatever you buy outside of stitch fix since they don't send complete outfits. I certainly don't get that many new pieces in a year, so it seems crazy to me. They must have huge closets and huge clothes budgets.
Doesn't sound harsh at all! Those children didn't ask to be put in that position, or to be born already addicted to something. It's terrible. If you can't care for yourself, I certainly wouldn't trust you with another life.

  96. Haha it's definitely better that you don't know! You'll know one when you see it - it'll look like a giveaway but in the comments it'll say 'click the photo to see the next person' and you have to go to that profile, follow that person, and on and on until you come all the way back where you started. Could be 70 new people you'd have to follow just for 1 entry to win the prize. It's horrid.
I've definitely seen the stitch fix pieces elsewhere - like Nordstrom's Rack. So they're on sale for a significant discount, but stitch fix is full priced? (Overpriced even.) Uh, no thanks!!

  97. Seriously! Obviously people are free to have kids and do with their finances as they please, but you can't possibly believe that having kids will help your financial situation. Not a chance.

  98. haha one perfect kid and done, that's what my parents did! Only children are awesome ;) But I agree, my parents are able to do so much more at this point in their lives than they would if they had had more children. It's definitely possible to have multiple kids on a small salary, but you need to readjust your priorities and standard of living at that point. Which is not something I'd ever be able to do! My dog is expensive enough on her own, let alone a kid!

  99. Oh man, the smoking, I didn't even think of that - I do have a friend making minimum wage who smokes at least a pack a week. That is NOT a cheap habit!
Stitch fix prices (any box of clothes really) are too expensive. I like picking out all my own stuff and paying my version of reasonable prices. Plus the outfits you post wouldn't be nearly as creative and fun and 'you' if you got the same box as everyone else!

    ReplyDelete
  100. The tax deductions aren't even that much! Not anywhere close to offsetting the cost of the kid. I just don't get it. I completely agree - you need to be responsible and save, have some sort of emergency fund, anything to show you can care for yourself before you can care for children. What about when they need braces or break their arm, or worse? How will you pay for that?

  101. People have left awesome ones! I've been stalking all their old pins. About to do the same to you :)

    ReplyDelete
  102. Loop giveaways are the worst. I have to disagree about your Starburst picks. Red and pink are the best.

Some idiots have kids because they're a tax deduction. Ok, fine, but what about the rest of the year?

I'm an only child, but have two kids. I wanted two. I got two. I can afford two.

  103. Good to know that you're happy being an only child Lol what made it so awesome for you? Just so I know how to make it awesome for my son. We try but I want to cross all my 'x's and dot all my "i"s - As a parent to an only child society makes you feel you need MORE children but everything going on tells me otherwise haha so I'm listening to the otherwise. :) Exactly, I like being able to spoil myself and I'm not jeopardizing that hehe! :) take care gorgeous!

  104. Haha I love this...except the pink starburst..those are my fave. But seriously I got the stitchfix thing one time and I was like HOLY hell what the eff are these people thinking? NO chance in hell I would spend that much on any of that in one month. Also, death penalty streamlined ALL the way.

    ReplyDelete
  105. I just love this. YES Pinterest has done something wonky and it's all crap lately. Also - AMEN to Stitch Fix. Cute clothes, but for real? Maybe if I was independently wealthy... and yes, KIDS = $. I enjoy spending my money on myself right now. Awesome!

  106. I totally agree that people make a big issue out of nothing ALLL the time and they need to give it a rest. It is exhausting. And I LOVE lie to me!!! Best show!! It's brilliant! And house!
