Three on Thursday

Welcome back to Three on Thursday, my weekly even though I sometimes skip weeks list of things I'm loving at the moment that I think you should do, try, or buy.  If you're interested in past weeks, you can find those here.

1. Bath and Body Works Fall Candles.  It's a little early to be lighting them, even for me the summer hater.  But I gotta tell you about my favorites so you can get them when a sale pops up, because you should never pay full price for these!  So let's talk faves.  Marshmallow Fireside is one of my must haves, though it's probably not for everyone.  It's got a sweet vanilla smell with a smoky bonfire smell, and I love the combination.  Sweater Weather is a classic and a crowd pleaser, you can't go wrong.  It's the autumn version of a nice, clean smell and makes your home super cozy.  John loves Flannel, if you're looking for a masculine candle.  It smells too cologne-y for me, but some people love that.  Chestnut and Clove smells like winter and Christmas to me, but it's sold for fall.  It's a favorite, so I have to recommend it while it's there.  Reminds me of my mom, I think.  We used to do those orange and clove ball things at Christmas time.  What are your fall favorites?

2. Decluttering Burst Challenge.  I really liked this post from Courtney Carver, the blogger behind Be More With Less.  It's all about how to let go of 100 things in under an hour, and it's broken down in a really easy way, like 10 things from the bathroom, 10 things from your car, etc.  But the best part?  Scroll down after the list - you can win a simplicity inspired prize pack if you do it.  Take pictures of your 100 things leaving the house and comment to her that you did it to be entered to win.  I (truly!) don't have 100 things to get rid of or I would be all over this.  Winner picked on Sept. 5 so I highly recommend you take an hour this weekend and give it a try.  Your home will look better and you could win.

3. Sparkle Pencils.  Sometimes my favorites from the week just have to be something that made me smile, ya know?  Last week was one of our law clerks' last day - he had been here for 17 years.  To say that this office doesn't work without him is an understatement.  Well after he had left, we needed pencils.  I was like 'oh I'm going to Target anyway, I'll get some to hold us until the office manager bulk orders the new ones' and I came back with sparkle pencils and they are amazing.  Nothing makes me smile like my 70 year old (male) boss writing with a sparkle pencil.  It's the little things, guys.  Best $3 I've spent all month.

Happy Thursday!
