Three on Thursday

Welcome back to Three on Thursday, my weekly even though I sometimes skip weeks list of things I'm loving at the moment that I think you should do, try, or buy.  If you're interested in past weeks, you can find those here.

1. Elizabeth and James Nirvana Bourbon Perfume.  I mentioned this last month as being my essential fall scent, but I really have been loving it lately.  It smells so good on me, John and I are both obsessed.  I think I decided I like it so much because it smells like one of my favorite Bath and Body Works candles, Marshmallow Fireside.  The undertone is more of a tobacco leaf smoky scent than a campfire smoky scent, but since I grew up with tobacco farms in Kentucky, I love that smell.  (By the way, tobacco leaf scent is not the same as cigarette smoke scent, don't be alarmed.)  It fades into the traditional marshmallow-y scent in a few hours.  So nice.  It's hard to recommend perfumes because scent is so personal, but I highly suggest you go test this out, it's at Sephora, Macy's, Nordstrom's, all over.

2. Hawkeye's Firefighter Halloween Costume.  I've made her wear it 4 times already and it's still weeks until Halloween.  Not sorry.  She's SO cute, and she matches John.  She hates every minute of it but I'm sure she'll forgive me one day.

3. Healthy Apple Bake.  My mom makes this for me all the time, but it's super simple to make.  Just diced up some apples (and pears if you have them) and top with some apple juice, lemon juice, or water just to add some moisture in.  You don't need much.  Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake at 350 degrees.  The length of your bake time will depend on how mushy you like your fruit to be, but it's about a half hour.  It's like the inside of apple pie, but in a healthy way.  Tastes delicious!  Perfect for a warm breakfast or snack.  My mom adds brown sugar to hers but I have the opposite of a sweet tooth so I don't like sugary things.  I vote you try it without the sugar first and then add it later if you must.

Happy Thursday!
