Monthly Decluttering Project: Bathroom

Last month, my decluttering project was the kitchen.  Now it's time for the bathrooms.  Yes, both of them.  It seems simpler that way, like once I'm in the mindset for that type of room, I might as well keep on going until they're both done.

If you have to declutter your bathroom, start with this checklist to help you organize your thoughts and make sure you hit every area:

And as for our bathrooms?  I have to be honest, the bathrooms don't typically look this bad, but I specifically waited to take pictures when they were in their most disheveled state.  So it's not totally accurate of our day to day living but it makes for more fun before and after pictures.

My Bathroom

Hair care products are my area where I can't seem to be at all minimal.  Which means my shower is usually overrun with shampoos and conditioners, and my area under the sink is packed with post-shower hair potions.  It's something I don't foresee totally downsizing altogether to match my normal level of minimal, but I can already see things in these pictures that have got to go.
My sink randomly froze one night when it was super cold, but we just moved the stuff out from underneath and turned a space heater on, and it was fine.  I love an easy fix.
My container of products that's usually under there was sitting out on the floor, which made me realize how many I actually have:
My three drawers aren't terrible but they need to be cleaned up and organized.
Yes, I have a toothbrush in there for John's brother Eric and Eric's girlfriend Beth.  The 3rd is John's, my own isn't even in there because I use an electric toothbrush and it's pictured below sitting on John's sink because mine was frozen.

John's Bathroom

This is where the real disaster is, because John is a much messier person than I am and I don't stay on top of this area as much as I should.

I'm sure you're thinking it's not as bad as it could be, but I'm not including our linen cabinet in this post because that is a mess all it's own and deserves it's own post.  It's definitely the biggest source of my clutter annoyance in John's bathroom, but for now, I'm just tackling his sink and drawers!
