Three on Thursday - Weekly Favorites

Welcome back to Three on Thursday, a weekly list of three things I'm loving at the moment that I think you should do, try, or buy.  If you're interested in past weeks and more recommendations, you can find those here.  If you make your own Three on Thursday list, please share it in the comments so I can check it out.

John.  and Lou Malnati's Pizza.  Yesterday marked 5 years of Valentine's Days with this guy.  Time flies, doesn't it?  And, since I've been on a no dairy and no basically anything fun since Halloween diet, all I wanted for our nice, fancy romantic holiday dinner was.... Lou Malnati's deep dish pizza.  In the shape of a heart.  Because I'm a child.  It was worth every bite, I love that stuff, but yep, dairy gives me stomach pain, it has been confirmed.  Whomp.  Anyway, it was a great day and I got a delivery of flowers at work (I talked him out of the chocolate covered strawberries because I have to behave at least a little now, come on.)  I think I'll keep him.  Hawkeye wouldn't have it any other way.  If you don't have dairy issues, then Lou's is the best Chicago pizza you can get.  Everyone has a favorite, but that one is mine, because the first location was in Lincolnwood, which is where I'm from, so it's been a staple my whole life.

RMS Living Luminizer You can't go wrong with a highlighter that's only 7 ingredients.  The RMS Beauty line is cruelty free and super clean, everything is coconut oil based.  Which my skin loves.  I absolutely cannot use powder highlighter.  With rosacea in my cheeks, the area that highlighter hits is the most sensitive and dry part of my face.  I can't even use cream products that dry down to anything resembling powder, and also nothing with alcohol in it (alcohol is drying.)  So basically, this coconut oil highlighter is perfection.  It's not glittery either, or even shimmery really, it's hard to explain.  It just looks like a glow, it's really nice.  And obviously comfortable to wear and easy to apply.  This product comes in different shades, but this one suits my skin tone.  They have the line at Sephora now, so I recommend testing it out!

Safety Razors Safety razors are amazing for many reasons, not the least of which is how much better they are for the environment.  No plastic nonsense like the drugstore razors, because you can recycle these blades (and obviously the handle isn't plastic either.)  And let's talk for a minute about the markup on those damn things.  What's a 5 pack of blades now?  $15, $20?  Insane.  In the long run, safety razors offer significant savings.  They're pricier up front but that is a one time cost, and it's about the price of 10 replacement blades for those plastic razors - and this handle will last your whole life.  You can even find them at thrift stores, if you really want to save.  The one I linked there is the one I have, obviously, but they really are all the same, just get good blades.  I use the Astra blades, which are like $6 for 30, and 30 would last at least 2 years.  I swap mine out probably once a month, ish?  More in summer, less in winter?  I'll try to keep better track for you in the future but yeah - dirt cheap.  There's not much of a learning curve, just watch a YouTube video on it and you're good to go.  The first time you'll probably irritate your skin a little, since it's a much closer and cleaner shave than you're used to, but slap some lotion on and you're good and then next time you'll be fine.  If you have any questions, ask me, because I think everyone should make the switch.  It's one of the easiest zero waste moves you can make.  Note: you cannot take safety razor blades in your carry on on an airplane.  If you travel often, keep a different travel razor.  I rarely travel and when I do, I stick the thing in there and hope for the best and they've never made me throw a blade out.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  You can also join me on Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest.  In addition to minimalism and organizing, I love all things 'real life' so use the hashtag #notentirelyperfect on social media so I can see your beautifully unstaged life.  On the top of the side bar to your right, you can follow me on Bloglovin or subscribe via e-mail to be alerted to each new post.
