Three on Thursday - Weekly Favorites

Welcome back to Three on Thursday, a weekly list of three things I'm loving at the moment that I think you should do, try, or buy.  If you're interested in past weeks and more recommendations, you can find those here.  If you make your own Three on Thursday list, please share it in the comments so I can check it out.

Theme this week: a few planner related favorites.

Emily Ley Simplified Planner.  The academic year just launched and my pretty water color floral weekly version arrived super fast (gifted by someone with the brand, FYI.)  By academic year, it just means that it runs August to next July, as opposed to calendar year.  I'll have the full overview on it here so you can see more details, because the exact same ones but as a 2019 calendar version come out on September 5.  That post also has a giveaway so try your luck at winning one for yourself!  It's open a few more days.  And This link gets you $10 off your order, and they have other supplies and versions of planners as well.

Pilot G2 Ultra Fine Pens.  For some reason, the thinner the pen, the neater my handwriting.  And this is as thin as it gets.  I love it.  Pilot G2 pens of any size are amazing, though in store you almost always find the .7 measurement.  Those are the ones John loves, it's all we have in the house.  But for my uses, and specifically for the planner, I go out of my way to find these .38 sized ones, which I can get on Amazon or my local art supply store.  They all write incredibly smoothly and cleanly, without skipping or smearing, but you don't need to press down hard to make that happen.  They just flow so well.

Colored Dot Stickers.  I have the ones from Emily Ley but they're all over Etsy too.  I like to use them to draw my eye to certain items in my planner without being overwhelming.  I used to color code with different colored pens and such, but it's pretty much the opposite of simple.  It's a very useful system, to be sure, but it's also a bit overwhelming to open to a page with print on it in 5 or more different colors.  And if I carry my planner around, I don't have to also carry sets of pens and things.  I just put a brightly colored dot next to something of particular importance, like a meeting or someone's birthday.
