Three on Thursday - Weekly Favorites

ONE.

The Anti-Budget from Tess Wicks There's a whole video on there to watch and free training and tools, but you'll see once you get in there that the Anti-Budget is a pretty genius way of managing your money if you hate having to manage your money.  A very condensed summary of this idea is that you add up all the things you have to spend in a year (rent, cell phone, etc. take the monthly bill and multiply by 12) plus any fixed savings (Christmas, your Roth IRA), and subtract that total from your annual take home pay.  Take that number and divide by 365 - that's what you get to spend in a day.  You can roll it over if you have a big weekend coming up or a birthday, but that's your number to spend on whatever you like, without worrying about what budget category it comes out of or if you're spending too much on coffee.  If you're under your daily amount, you're good!  It's all the work up front (but like, the work you would need to do for a monthly budget anyway!), but then you literally don't think about it until something in your finances changes.  So it's the ultimate lazy guide to budgeting, and if you remember from last week's post, simplify everything is my life motto at the moment.  Tess is a really informative and personable blogger/ youtuber/ podcaster in general, so if you need money help at all (including investing!), then I recommend checking out all her free resources across her platforms.  I'll have more on making the anti-budget work for me in my update on my shopping ban.

TWO.

Angel Food Cake.  There's something about the weather turning warm that just makes me want to eat angel food cake.  Too much of it.  But it's so good and light and fluffy, it's been a real favorite lately.  Let's get real, just because it feels like it tastes lighter does not mean that it is.  It's still loaded with sugar, which I'm trying to quit from my diet but since I barely eat anything with any sort of sugar in it anyway, I figure why not live a little with my angel food cake.  In June I can get back to this healthy business... Oh wait that's tomorrow.

THREE.

My Simplified Phone.  I updated the background and got rid of apps, it was great.  I really like having pretty much nothing on here, which I suppose defeats the purpose of having a fancy phone but I've always maintained that I wish I had my Nokia brick back.  There's some other tweaks I might make but for now, it's just a tiny amount of stuff and looks so lovely.
