Three on Thursday - Weekly Favorites

Welcome back to Three on Thursday, a weekly list of three things I'm loving at the moment that I think you should do, try, or buy.  If you're interested in past weeks and more recommendations, you can find those here.  If you make your own Three on Thursday list, please share it in the comments so I can check it out.

Wands for Wildlife Mascara Wand Recycling.  I think we can all agree that plastic waste is the worst, right?  Unfortunately, tons of makeup is packaged in plastic.  But now you can put all those old mascara wands to use.  This company will take them all and use them to clean the wildlife they are treating and rehabilitating.  Just clean the wands and ship them in, super simple.  Plus, they have partnered with Wet n Wild cosmetics, so if you purchase a mascara from them (all under $6), you get a prepaid label to send any old wands to the recycling program.  I love my Essence mascara but I do have friends who swear by Wet n Wild who don't like the Essence one, so if you're on a mascara hunt, I think you should give them a try!  They have the only makeup brushes I use, they're so cheap and just as effective as anything high end.  And if you want a prepaid label without making a purchase, you just have to call the number listed here.  I think that makes them pretty awesome and a company I want to support.  They've also always been cruelty free, of course.

Mango and Blackberry Vodka Cooler Mangoes are in peak season right now, for the record.  My parents have been buying them like crazy.  Since I don't like to eat mangoes on their own (it's a texture thing), I instead looked up a way to use them in a cocktail.  Because of course.  And I have to tell you, this drink is so, so good and perfect for summer.  I leave out the mint because I hate mint.  I've also made it before just using the mango puree, without bothering to turn it into a simple syrup, and it's just as delicious.  And easier, with less sugar because I think fruit is sweet enough.  Make this!  You'll like it.

Pinterest The latest victim of my 'simplify everything' crusade.  But now I actually like it so much more!  I was using BoardBooster, which was basically just automated pinning for me so I wouldn't have to work at getting my page and pinned blog posts seen and then I accepted that I don't care.  So the first thing I did a couple months ago was to stop using the service altogether, and turn off the 'business' option on my account.  (BoardBooster closed anyway because it wasn't an 'approved partner' by Pinterest, and only Tailwind was approved and how is that not an illegal monopoly I don't know but someone will sue over that soon, I assure you.)  So anyway once that was done with, I went through every single board and every single pin, over 10,000 of them, and deleted everything I didn't care about and wouldn't reference again.  Essentially 'curating' my boards.  Now I have about 600 pins left and I love them all.  It's so much prettier to look at and easier to use.  Time consuming, but worth it!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  You can also join me on Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest.  In addition to minimalism and organizing, I love all things 'real life' so use the hashtag #notentirelyperfect on social media so I can see your beautifully unstaged life.  On the top of the side bar to your right, you can follow me on Bloglovin or subscribe via e-mail to be alerted to each new post.
