Three on Thursday

Welcome back to Three on Thursday, a weekly list of three things I'm loving at the moment that I think you should do, try, or buy.  If you're interested in past weeks and more recommendations, you can find those here.  If you make your own Three on Thursday list, please share it in the comments so I can check it out.

Fairyland Cottage on YouTubeThis is just the sweetest simple living/healthy living channel.  She owns a beautiful cottage in Ireland and creates videos all about her simplified life there, like her minimalist evening routine, low waste bread making, simple cleaning, and more.  She has such a soothing voice and a quiet style to all of her videos, but you still actually learn things like decluttering and using natural products.  I'm thoroughly confident that you're going to love her.  And that you'll be inspired to quiet down your own life.

Night Sky App.  I just posted a screenshot over the weekend to my Instagram stories and got tons of comments and questions so I figured it would be good to include here.  It's highlighted under the Hearth Witch icon if you want to see it.  It's a free app that uses your location (you can put it in manually if you don't want to give it access automatically) to show you the night sky.  All you have to do is move your phone around and it will show you all the stars and planets, including outlining all the constellations and letting you double click things to see them close up and in 3D.  In case you were wondering what the back side of that blue tinged star looks like.  I love stars, so I think it's really fun to go out there and learn exactly what I'm looking at.  There are a lot of app options for this actually, but this is my favorite because very detailed and accurate while still being user friendly.  And it's the prettiest.

Chance the Snapper.  He was finally caught Tuesday morning.  In case you missed the news, Chicago lost it's damn mind over this alligator that was loose in the Humboldt Park lagoon.  Since, obviously, Chicago is not the natural habitat of gators, it was clearly someone's pet that they let go because it got too big or something.  Chaos ensued as it eluded capture by Alligator Bob for a week.  They closed the lagoon and park to keep people away but everyone went down to try to see him, even bringing snacks to try to lure him out.  Naturally, people on Twitter named him Chance the Snapper and the little dude dominated the news (and Chance the Rapper's twitter account) for days until he was finally caught by a gator expert from Florida.  And then he still dominated the news because they had a press conference about him which naturally he attended - in a bowtie.  The guy who caught him threw out the first pitch at the Cubs game!  I mean, you cannot make this shit up.  People in Florida, tell me, are you just sitting there like 'Chicago, you've got to be kidding me, I see one of those every damn day'?  Either way, you were brilliant entertainment Chance, thanks for being you.  I hope you enjoy a long, princely life in a very happy sanctuary.  To your owner who let you go, I hope you die slowly and painfully from an infected alligator bite.  #Karma.
